DECODE OFFICE

The functionality of the space was not adequate so all existing partition walls were torn down. To make use of every square meter, the entrance space was turned into a lounge room. That way, a space that had rarely been used became a contact spot for employees and visitors. The small sofas were custom-designed. The auxiliary kitchen was fitted onto a wall with as many as five distribution and control boxes which helped conceal the aesthetically displeasing door.

The larger kitchen is at the opposite end of the communal space so employees use one for lunch and the other for casual socializing over a snack. All visible fronts were made out of OSB with edges banded with anthracite tape, a visual element that recurs on the ceiling, high tables, and plant shelf. Birch tree trunks were set up around the space. They enhanced the office aesthetics, added a touch of nature, and double as hangers.

The desks are separated with greenery and the space offers a relaxing ambiance with no distracting accents. The walls opposite the windows were used for whiteboards, which are visible to everyone and used daily. The conference rooms vary in size so approaches to design differed. Projector screens are lowered between the office and lounge, as well as the smaller and larger conference room, when needed. Apart from dividing the rooms and offering protection from view, they are also used for presentations and relaxing with PlayStation. Curtains are installed from floor to ceiling, so it's possible to fully separate individual rooms.
